Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of remedial massage therapists who work with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance or restrictions in range of motion (ROM). Practitioners may be self-employed or work within a larger health service.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 200 hours of Clinic work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
Entry Requirements
IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
AUIT will conduct a pre-confirmation of enrolment, LLN assessment with applicants, to ensure their suitability, to undertake and successfully complete the course.

Delivery & Assessment
This program utilises a mixture of classroom-based training and onsite workplace training at AUIT’s dedicated student clinic to ensure that students can develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a simulated clinical environment that reflects workplace conditions. In classroom training, face-to-face delivery method is used for students to attend scheduled training sessions and complete in-class activities, presentation and discussions and etc. For workplace training, it is compulsory for all students to complete a minimum of 200 hours of workplace training at AUIT’s student Clinic.
Assessment methods may include and not limited to:
- Written Assessment (Questions and Answers).
- Case Study
- Project
- Practical demonstration/On-Site Observation including Student Clinic

Recognition
Students with prior learning, studies, work and or life experience may qualify for recognition or credits (RPL) for modules and or units within this qualification. AUIT recognises the AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other RTOs and grants credit for these towards an award where applicable Please enquire with AUIT administration prior to or immediately after enrolment.
